Steps for removing a tick
    1. Use fine-tipped tweezers to grasp the tick as close to the skin as possible. 
    2. Pull upward with steady, even pressure. 
    3. Clean the bite area and your hands with rubbing alcohol or soap and water. 
  • Dispose of the tick by flushing it down the toilet, putting it in a sealed bag, or wrapping it tightly in tape. 
  • Watch for symptoms of Lyme disease, such as a rash, fever, fatigue, headache, muscle pain, or joint swelling and pain. 
  • Call your healthcare provider if you have any of these symptoms, or if you can’t remove the entire tick.
